Crossfit Day 2 - No Pain, No Gain

First Blisters from Kippings

Whoever said “no pain, no gain” was right.

This Saturday was much different than my usual wake up at 11:00, go for lunch, then take a nap. Ten o’clock sharp, Crossfit workout: a Science Ball run followed by three sets of Helens.

The Science Ball run is a 1.2KM run from Crossfit around Science World and back. That was followed up by 1/2 Helens. The Helen is a 400M run followed by 12 kettleball lifts and 6 kipping pull-ups. Since I’m still early on in my training my run was 200M followed by 12 kettle balls and 6 pull ups. A kettleball looks like a cannon ball with a handle. Wikipedia has an article on it.

Other than the pull ups the workout didn’t put me on the verge of throwing up. I left the session feeling exhausted but invigorated and with a few battle scars to take home.
