Interview with IDG News

I was interviewed by Juan Carlos Perez of IDG News Service regarding the Microsoft bid for Yahoo! and the likely fall it would have on Zimbra. Since we’re just about to deploy Zimbra to all ~ 10,000 users on the Sutton email system this was a big concern for us.

The article is available on PC World.

  2. Did you guys look at Gmail for all of your users? There are lots of big companies using Gmail… just curious, did you look into it? if so, what was not going to work for Sutton?

  4. I considered it. It is really compelling considering it is free and it is really good. However, Google for Domains or whatever it is called doesn’t give us a lot of flexibility when adding / removing users. Managing 9000 users without some automation would have cost more than our Zimbra system. :)

  6. Ya, makes sense. Maybe they will add that functionality at some point.
